VENTURA, Calif. – In the aftermath of the recent Mountain Fire, many Ventura County residents are facing significant challenges, including limited access to computers and the Internet. Whether it is work, school, or essential services, the Ventura County Library has technology resources to connect residents with the vital services and information they need during this difficult time.

The Ventura County Library offers the following resources to the public free of charge:

  • Computer Kits: Residents can check out a kit which contains a Chromebook laptop and mobile (Wi-Fi) hotspot with a library card. (Availability is limited.)
  • Free In-Library Computer Access: Desktop and laptop computers are available for use at library locations (library card not required).
  • Self-Service Printing and Copying: Print or copy documents for a small fee; no library card required.
  • Free Public Wi-Fi: Residents can access the Internet using their personal devices at all library branches without a library card.

These resources are free and are available at 12 library locations across the county. Library staff are ready to assist with setup and answer any questions. The Ventura County Library also offers programs for children, providing safe and engaging activities during uncertain times. Program details vary by location.

Library cards are not required for use of computer and internet resources within library branches. For residents who would like a library card, cards are available free of cost at any location.
