VENTURA, Calif. – Beginning at noon on Tuesday, December 3, residents affected by the Mountain Fire will have access to additional financial assistance provided by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). The SBA will be offering individual loan assistance to residents who qualify and incurred damage and loss on their properties as result of the fire.
“We are pleased that the SBA will be on-site and available to provide guidance and individual support to residents affected by the Mountain Fire,” stated Melissa Livingston, Director of the Human Service Agency and Coordinator for the Local Assistance Center. “The financial assistance that will be offered through the SBA is an essential element of the recovery process for our community and will do much to help support residents as they navigate the financial impacts of recovery and rebuilding.”
Representatives from the SBA will hold office hours at the Ventura County Office of Education Conference Center, Oxnard Room & Hueneme Room at 5100 Adolfo Rd. in Camarillo. Residents will be able to meet with representatives between 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., Tuesday – Saturday. Services on-site will include loan application assistance for residents and business owners as well as financial counseling.
SBA Disaster Loans Include:
- Business Loans up to $2M for repairs/replacements of real estate, machinery, equipment, inventory, and other assets.
- Economic Injury Loans for small businesses, agricultural cooperatives and nonprofits, regardless of property damage.
- Homeowner Loans up to $500,000 for real estate repairs.
- Personal Property Loans for homeowners and renters may qualify for up to $100,000 to repair/replace personal property, including vehicles.
- Interest Rates as low as 2.563% for homeowners/renters and as low as 4% for businesses.
The deadline to apply for property damage is January 28, 2025. The deadline to apply for economic injury is August 29, 2025. Applicants are encouraged to submit their applications promptly.
