Wildfire Safety Day kicked off Wednesday with the Ventura County Firehawk helicopter showcasing firefighting methods in action.
Families had the opportunity to meet first responders and learn firsthand about tools and training used to protect our communities.
Goats used for brush and weed abatement were also on site, showing how natural methods help reduce fire risk.
Multiple agencies from @venturacountyfire, @vcanimalservices, @vcsheriff’s Office of Emergency Services, Simi Valley CERT to the Red Cross led hands-on demonstrations and safety activities.
The one-day event held at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library, focused on wildfire readiness and emergency response, to keep our residents safe.
The event was designed to arm residents of all ages with life-saving tips and preparedness just in time for wildfire season.
✨The Board of Supervisors, through unanimous vote during their regular meeting on Tuesday, June 24, appointed Ronald Miller II to the position of Chief Probation Officer. His appointment follows a competitive recruitment process that drew candidates from across the region. Miller steps into the role following the retirement of former Chief Probation Officer Gina Johnson in June.
