🌲🎉 July is Parks & Recreation Month, a time to celebrate the incredible outdoor spaces that make Ventura County so special!

A big thank you to our dedicated Park Rangers at our @venturacountyparks department who work hard year-round to maintain our campgrounds, protect our natural resources, and help keep visitors safe. 🙌💚

Planning to camp at a County campground this 4th of July? Here are a few friendly reminders to help everyone enjoy a safe holiday weekend:

🚫 Fireworks are strictly prohibited
🔥 Fires must stay in designated fire pits. No standalone flames.
🚯 Don’t be a litterbug. Pack up your belongings.
🐾 Keep pets leashed and clean up after them.
💵 Day use fees can now be paid two ways: use the cash envelope method or try our convenient new online payment option!

Enjoy the outdoors and help us protect what makes it beautiful. Have a great holiday weekend! 🌿

Wildfire Safety Day kicked off Wednesday with the Ventura County Firehawk helicopter showcasing firefighting methods in action.

Families had the opportunity to meet first responders and learn firsthand about tools and training used to protect our communities.

Goats used for brush and weed abatement were also on site, showing how natural methods help reduce fire risk.
Multiple agencies from @venturacountyfire, @vcanimalservices, @vcsheriff’s Office of Emergency Services, Simi Valley CERT to the Red Cross led hands-on demonstrations and safety activities.
The one-day event held at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library, focused on wildfire readiness and emergency response, to keep our residents safe.

The event was designed to arm residents of all ages with life-saving tips and preparedness just in time for wildfire season.
