VENTURA, CA – The County of Ventura has been awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) for its Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) for fiscal year 2019. The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition that a County can receive in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.
“This award represents a significant achievement and demonstrates our commitment to the highest standards of financial reporting, integrity, transparency, and solid financial management. We work hard to ensure Ventura County’s CAFR enables our citizens to clearly understand the county’s financial position,” said Auditor-Controller Jeff Burgh.
The CAFR has been judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program including demonstrating a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the CAFR.
This is the 36th consecutive year the County of Ventura has been awarded this certificate.
