Rediscover the joy and excitement of riding a bike!

Ventura, CA – The County of Ventura Sustainability Division will celebrate National Bike Month this year by hosting CycleMAYnia Mini-Expo. CycleMAYnia Mini-Expo is a free event open to the public that aims to inspire more people to embrace cycling as a sustainable, eco-friendly, and health-enhancing mode of transportation. The community is encouraged to attend the event happening on Wednesday, May 31st from 10 am – 2 pm at the Ventura County Government Center Lot G.

Whether you’re interested in mountain biking, competitive cycling, leisure rides, or active commuting, this mini expo will feature opportunities for you to learn how to safely incorporate more cycling into your life. The CycleMAYnia Mini-Expo will include the following:

  • e-bike test-rides
  • e-bike displays
  • Local vendor bike displays
  • Bike safety workshop
  • Bike maintenance workshop
  • Local cycling clubs
  • Local bike advocacy groups
  • Local food vendors

Members of the public will get a chance to test-ride different models of electric bikes (e-bikes), meet local bike vendors, and get hands-on training on how to fix their bikes and follow bike safety precautions. Attendees can also visit booths featuring Ventura County Transportation District (VCTC), Ventura County Public Health, and the Ventura County Sustainability Division to learn about bike safety plans, health tips, and eco-friendly actions.

“By choosing cycling as a means of transportation, you’re benefiting your health and contributing to a greener and more sustainable future for our planet,” says Chair of the Board of Supervisors Matt LaVere.

The CycleMAYnia Mini-Expo is part of a larger effort by the County to encourage the public to get out and cycle as a form of exercise or transportation. In addition to the health benefits, cycling offers a sustainable and eco-friendly mode of transportation that reduces carbon emissions, promotes cleaner air, and helps combat climate change.
