✨Board of Supervisors Agenda Highlight
At Tuesday`’s meeting, the Ventura County Board of Supervisors approved a grant to expand the Pets for Life program through Ventura County Animal Services (VCAS). This initiative provides free microchips, pet food, veterinary care, and essential support to help families in need keep their pets at home — reducing the number of animals entering shelters.
By investing in proactive, community-based solutions, the County is expanding support for pets & families.

Here`s a highlight, the Board approved a major investment in cleaner air and better public health at the Ray D. Prueter Library in Port Hueneme!
With a $200,000 grant from Ventura County Air Pollution Control District and an additional $200,000 from the Library’s Education Fund, the library will upgrade all nine HVAC units, qualifying it to serve as a safe space during wildfires or other poor air quality events.

At this week`s Board of Supervisors meeting, the Board proudly recognized Richard Camacho, a U.S. Marine veteran and co-founder of Vietnam Veterans of Ventura County.
Mr. Camacho served in Vietnam, was wounded in action, and received a Purple Heart for his bravery. His leadership and tireless advocacy have made a lasting impact on local veterans.
