🌱 This department plays a key role in keeping our agriculture thriving and consumers protected!
✅ Safeguarding Crops – Monitoring for invasive pests and plant diseases to keep our farms healthy.
✅ Ensuring Safe Practices – Overseeing responsible pesticide use to protect workers and the environment.
✅ Protecting Consumers – Inspecting scales, gas pumps, and more to ensure fair and accurate pricing at local markets!

From strawberries to avocados, lemons to nursery plants, Ventura County’s agriculture is stronger because of these efforts! Let’s take a moment to appreciate the people who make it all possible. 💪🚜

Meet Cristina Colombo, an Environmental Health Technician with the County of Ventura’s Resource Management Agency. As the Ocean Water Sampler for the Environmental Health Division’s Ocean Water Monitoring Program, Cristina plays a crucial role in keeping Ventura County’s beaches clean and safe. 🏖️

With 40 sampling sites along the coast, she works in partnership with Ventura County Public Health to test water quality, ensuring our community can enjoy the ocean without worry. It’s a job that keeps her outdoors, exploring the beauty of our shoreline—even if it means encountering a critter or two along the way! 🦀🐟

Cristina takes great pride in her work, knowing that her efforts protect public health and preserve our stunning coastline. Thank you, Cristina, for your dedication and passion for our environment! 🌍💙

At Tuesday`s Board meeting the Ventura County Board of Supervisors unanimously voted to support Assembly Bill 367.
This is a new state bill aimed at ensuring local water systems are prepared during power outages in high fire-risk areas. 🔥

This includes:
✅ Backup power for water districts to keep wells/pumps running
✅ Full water storage before dangerous weather conditions
✅ Annual inspections by Ventura County Fire Department
✅ Post-fire reporting to improve water delivery systems

With over $8 billion in wildfire damages across VC in the past decade, AB 367 is a proactive step to strengthen our fire resilience.
