👀 Have you seen one of these before?

These peculiar looking traps hanging in Ventura County parks are part of the Agricultural Commissioner’s efforts to monitor and control the invasive Gold-Spotted Oak borer beetle. This tiny pest can cause devastating damage to our oak trees if left unchecked.

🌲 How you can help:
🔥 "Burn it where you buy it!" Transporting firewood is one of the main ways invasive pests spread. By using local firewood, you’re helping to protect our trees and the wildlife that depend on them.

Our Agricultural Commissioner’s Office regularly checks these traps to stay one step ahead of the beetle and safeguard Ventura County’s natural environment.
